The Autoimmune Protocol (in a simple nutshell) is a specialised version of the Paleo diet - with a much greater emphasis on nutrient density and stricter guidelines for which foods should be eliminated. Removing immune reacting and inflammatory causing foods.  

The ultimate goal being to fill the body with nutrients whilst simultaneously avoiding food that might be contributing to ill health. 

After a period of time, many of the excluded foods, especially those that have nutritional merit, can be reintroduced.
