The Autoimmune Protocol (in a simple nutshell) is a specialised version of the Paleo diet - with a much greater emphasis on nutrient density and stricter guidelines for which foods should be eliminated. Removing immune reacting and inflammatory causing foods.  

The ultimate goal = fill the body with nutrients whilst simultaneously avoiding food that might be contributing to ill health. 

After a period of time, many of the excluded foods, especially those that have nutritional merit, can be reintroduced.
