About a year ago, I found out I have hypothyroidism. Basically, my thyroid has cracked it with me and decided to head off to la la land!
Since then, I've been poking around the edges, looking at how foods and natural remedies could help, but never taking the next step. I can be a little lazy at times. However I'm here to say the Taurean inside of me has awaken and I've got the bit between my teeth. Researching, experimenting, researching some more, and the more I find out, the more obsessive I'm becoming. Told you I'm a Taurean!
On my travels I've been discovering and enjoying the benefits of green juices/smoothies. Yes, I've also heard everyone's negative opinions about these, but having experimented on myself for a little while now, I can honestly say, I've never felt better.
A particular juice I've discovered is Elissa Goodman's recipe for Elissa's Thyroid Juice, and I LOVE it!
I've had to adapt her recipe slightly due to the availability of ingredients here in Australia, but I think you'll still enjoy it...
2/3 cup parsley | 2-3 large cos lettuce leaves | 3 celery stalks | 2 inches fresh ginger knob | 1/2 green apple | 1/2 lemon | organic coconut water or organic coconut milk (depending on your mood)
I have this refreshing juice first thing on a morning every day (after I down my warm water and organic apple cider vinegar) and before I eat my breakfast. I miss it when I miss it!
