We get told every day to drink more water, but no one really tells us about the amazing benefit of “eating” our water.  What I mean, is to eat more water-rich plant foods like cucumber, lettuce, fresh berries and melons - all of which have over 90% water.

You see, the water that’s trapped in these fresh plant foods also contains a myriad of vitamins, minerals and fibres that help our body to absorb more water more slowly – meaning we’re more hydrated for longer periods of time.  This process also comes with a multitude of additional benefits from boosting our immune system, transporting oxygen, fat and glucose to our muscles as well as supporting our body to digest food and get rid of waste.

Did you know that drinking too much water can actually cause our body to lose vitamins and minerals as they end up getting flushed out?

Dehydration can contribute to a loss of energy, headaches and general sluggishness.

Our bodies are constantly regenerating and creating new cells, so it is super important that we eat and drink with a deliberate focus on this. The best way to do this is to keep our body saturated with cell-building elements such as vitamin A, alpha lipoic acid, oleic acid, polyphenols, folic acid and vitamin C.   And yes, these nutrients can all be found in water-rich foods!
